Year 9 Group Notices

Welcome to Year 9

The theme for this year is Stepping Stones. This is an opportunity for students to Step Up and Step Forward as they take the opportunity to be resilient and make the right choices as they progress through this year and prepare for GCSEs next year. It is a chance for them to start on the right path.

Year 9 – your path starts here.

  • This is where the path changes.
  • It’s time to build your future, one step at a time.

  • Engage with opportunities given.

  • Show resilience and perseverance.

  • Start walking with purpose.

  • Achieve your goals.

Our Scripture for the year is Psalm 37: 23-24

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Year 9 Pathways

Spring term is a very important term for all Yr 9 students as they begin their journey in selecting the subjects that they will go to study in Yr 10 & 11 for GCSE’s. The whole process is called ‘Pathways’. During their PSHE lessons the pupils will start to understand what choices they have and what each subject may entail. The group will also have the opportunity to attend a ‘Women in Business’ workshop, whereby they can ask questions of successful female role models who have a background in some non-traditional female sectors.
