Bellerive FCJ Catholic College Celebrates GCSE Success

Students and staff at Bellerive FCJ Catholic College are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE and vocational results, reflecting the hard work, ambition and determination of our Year 11 students.

This summer, an impressive 23% of all grades were awarded at the highest grades of 7–9, while 53% of grades were awarded at the strong standard of Grade 5 or above. Students also achieved excellent outcomes in vocational qualifications, with more than one in five entries awarded a Distinction* or Distinction.

Our students have demonstrated success across a wide range of subjects, from English, mathematics and the sciences to creative subjects and modern foreign languages.

There have also been some outstanding individual performances, including:

J’Howlyn G – 6 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 6

Esme T – 6 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s

Anna O – 5 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s

Amber W – 5 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7

Philippa D – 4 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and 1 Grade 6

Skye A – 2 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7, 1 Grade 6 and 1 Grade 5

These exceptional individual achievements sit alongside the successes of students across the whole year group. Whether securing the very highest grades, achieving personal bests or gaining the qualifications needed to progress to their chosen next step, there is much to celebrate.

We are delighted that many students will now continue their journey at Bellerive Sixth Form, studying A Levels and Level 3 vocational qualifications, while others will progress to colleges, apprenticeships and further training opportunities.

Headteacher Mr Forsey said:

“I am incredibly proud of every single one of our Year 11 students. Today is a day to celebrate their achievements and the enormous amount of hard work, determination and resilience that sits behind these results.

“We are delighted to see so many of our students achieving the highest grades, but success at Bellerive is about every young person fulfilling their potential and opening the door to an ambitious next step.

“The breadth of achievement across the academic core, the arts, languages and vocational subjects demonstrate the opportunities available to our students and the commitment of our staff to helping every individual succeed. These results are a credit to our students, their families and the staff who have supported them throughout their time at Bellerive.”

Deputy Headteacher Mrs Cadman added:

“There has been a wonderful atmosphere of celebration in school today and it has been a privilege to share such an important moment with our students and their families.

“We are particularly proud that these results showcase success in so many different areas. Alongside strong performance in the traditional academic curriculum, our students continue to excel in the arts, languages and vocational qualifications. That breadth is important to us because we want every student to discover where her talents lie and have the opportunity to flourish.

“Behind every grade is an individual story of hard work, perseverance and progress. Our Year 11 students leave us as confident, compassionate and ambitious young women, and we are incredibly excited to see what they achieve next.”

Congratulations, Year 11 – we are incredibly proud of you!
