Step Into Sixth Form Week 2022
We are delighted to share with you the details of our Step Into Sixth Form week, which is a range of activities that will hopefully give a taste of the wonderful experiences we have on offer here at Bellerive Sixth Form. It is also hoped that these experiences will help to prepare students for their post 16 studies.
The taster week will run from Monday 27th June – Thursday 30th June 2022 and all Year 11 students are encouraged to attend. Please note the important housekeeping and admin arrangements at the end of this page.

We would be delighted for you to attend our Bellerive Step into Sixth Form Week, as part of your transition to our Sixth Form.

Monday 27th June - A day in the life of a Year 12 student
Monday 27th June – All students will complete a day in the life of a Year 12 students and follow the curriculum, tasting A Level lessons and use of the Sixth Form’s brand new facilities.
Tuesday 28th June - Enrichment Activities
Tuesday 28th June – All students will participate in a range of exciting enrichment activities to learn about the range of additional courses and experiences we have on offer outside of the academic programme at Bellerive Sixth Form.
The sessions running are:
- The Bellerive Games
- Circus Acrobats
- Art Therapy
- Bellerive Bake Off
- Introduction to Calligraphy
- Upcycling Workshop
The sessions will be 2 x 1.5hr sessions. 9-10:30 and 11-12:30.
After lunch students will be involved in their end of year assembly, where they will take a trip down memory lane and remember all the wonderful times, they have had with us at Bellerive.
Wednesday 29th June - Alton Towers Trip!
Wednesday 29th June – All Year 11 students are invited on a trip to Alton Towers.
In Sixth Form we believe that social time to bond as a year group is important and we want to extend this offer to Year 11 to give them a taste of experiences open to them within Sixth Form.
We have subsidised the cost of the trip by paying for the transport to and from school, therefore the cost of the trip is just the entrance fee to the park.
The cost for the trip has been added to ParentPay for all Year 11 students and payments must be received by Sunday 12th June 2022
Students must arrive to school at 7:30am on the morning of the trip and will return to school at approximately 7pm.
Thursday 30th June - Health & Wellbeing Activities
Thursday 30th June – Health and Well-being is an important part of Sixth Form and is covered through assemblies, guest speakers, PSHE and our enrichment programme. On this day students will participate in evaluation activities and will be taken on a well-being walk in Sefton Park.
Students will finish the day at 12:25pm to allow them time to go home and prepare for the Celebration Evening.
Thursday 30th June - Year 11 Celebration Evening
Celebration Evening is at Bellerieve from 7:30pm – 10:30pm and tickets are available to purchase on ParentPay.
The pictures from our last event in 2019 give a glimpse of what you can look forward to at the event.
Do I have to wear my school uniform?
There is no requirement to wear school uniform during Step into Sixth Form Week and you can wear your own clothes. All we ask is that you wear clothes that are appropriate for the activities that you are taking part in.
The Sixth Form guidance about hair, make up and jewellery will apply during this week, so you will have a chance to discover the freedoms that our Sixth Form students enjoy
In addition, the Sixth Form rules about mobile phones will apply meaning that they can be used sensibly in the Bistro during social time.
Arrival times and Catering
Please arrive at school at the normal start of the school day, except for the Alton Towers trip on Wednesday 29th June when you will need to be here at 7:30am.
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday we will welcome you each morning with a free breakfast in the Sixth Form Bistro.
At lunchtime you will be able to purchase your lunch in the Bistro and experience our range of Sixth Form only food options
If you are in receipt of Free School Meals we will continue to provide you with your lunchtime meal as usual.
