Three Y13 students ( Destiny O, Olivia N and Emily S) attended a presentation evening at Liverpool University to present and celebrate successful four-week summer Nuffield work placements.

The girls worked at the University of Liverpool or Unilever and completed research placements on topics of surfactants, smartphone use and the eye’s ability, and proton radiotherapy. They worked alongside professional scientists and lecturers to complete research in their given field and write a detailed report.

The celebration evening was attended by parents, teachers and local businesspeople and university doctorates.  The girls discussed and presented their work with confidence. It was a lovely evening to celebrate their hard work during the summer. All three girls wish to go on and study STEM careers ranging from Engineering, Biomedical Science and Physics; we wish them luck and are sure they will be very successful! Well done!
