Year 11 visit new sixth form construction site - Bellerive School

A group of Year 11 students visited the construction site for the new Sixth form and Performing Arts Centre on Friday 20th November. Accompanied by Mr Taylor ( Deputy Headteacher), the students were given a full tour of the site and were able to see the excellent progress being made by our contractors Morgan Sindall. They were briefed on progress by Quentin Keohane who is the lead architect on the project (on behalf of Mouchel) and Ian Park who is the site manager on behalf of Morgan Sindall.

The students gained a great insight into the technical aspects of construction and engineering and were left in no doubt about the attention to detail involved in such a project. The students will be amongst the first to benefit from the new building when it opens in summer 2016 . The visit came at an opportune time as we host our sixth form open evening on Wednesday 25th November, preceded by a gateway to sixth form event in Marie Madeline Hall.

At the moment, the building is almost watertight, windows almost fitted and the brickwork progressing at a rapid rate. We will keep you posted on further developments in future newsletters.
